Tim Cook Thanks 21 Times During WWDC Speech
“One of the highlights of my time as CEO of Apple is events like this,” Tim Cook said in a video broadcast on stage at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026, which took place on June 8 in the United States. “Sharing new and powerful tools with all of you, as well as what you create for them, always reminds me that imagination is limitless.”
According to him, over time, the Apple team and developers have helped people create, learn, and experience the world in the most understandable ways. “And with the amazing capabilities we just introduced today, I truly believe a brighter future still lies ahead,” the Apple CEO emphasized.
Cook stated that leading Apple is “a privilege” for him. Throughout the event, he expressed his gratitude 21 times.

On April 20, Apple announced that Tim Cook would serve as CEO until the end of summer, after which he would hand over the position to John Ternus, Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, starting September 1. Cook will transition to the role of Executive Chairman and will assist with some company operations, as well as work with policymakers worldwide.
“Becoming the CEO of Apple has been the greatest honor of my life, and I am deeply grateful to be entrusted with leading such an extraordinary company. I love Apple with all my being, and I truly cherish the opportunity to work with a talented, creative, innovative, and dedicated team,” he said at that time.
Tim Cook joined Apple in 1998 and became CEO in 2011. During his leadership, he oversaw the launch of many products and services, including new categories such as the Apple Watch, AirPods, and Vision Pro, as well as services like iCloud, Apple Pay, Apple TV, and Apple Music.
Under his leadership, Apple’s market capitalization increased from approximately 350 billion to 4 trillion USD, equivalent to an increase of over 1,000%, while annual revenue nearly quadrupled, from 108 billion in fiscal year 2011 to over 416 billion USD in 2025. The company expanded its global presence, particularly in emerging markets, operating in more than 200 countries and territories. Apple also operates over 500 retail stores. During his tenure, Apple added over 100,000 employees and increased the number of active devices to more than 2.5 billion.
Meanwhile, John Ternus, born in 1975 in the United States, joined Apple’s product design team in 2001, became Vice President of Hardware Engineering in 2013, and joined the executive team in 2021. He is responsible for hardware across most product categories and played a vital role in launching new product lines such as the iPad and AirPods, as well as many generations of iPhones, Macs, and Apple Watches.
