Sonny Dickson, known as a “leak expert” for sharing accurate information about Apple products, posted several images of a finished model of the first foldable iPhone on social media. This is considered the closest and clearest look at the design of the upcoming breakthrough product line.
The model is a non-functional device created with precise dimensions and shape to be sent to accessory manufacturers like case makers before the official launch of the device.

According to Dickson’s images, the foldable iPhone, expected to be named Ultra, has a book-like design with a 4:3 aspect ratio. When opened, the device is wider than it is tall, presenting a different approach compared to existing foldable smartphones on the market like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. Previous leaked specifications indicate that the phone has a 5.5-inch outer display. When opened, the main OLED display inside reaches 7.8 inches, slightly smaller than the iPad mini.
The new series of images also reveals many details about the device. It is said to feature a record-thin titanium frame, approximately 4.5 mm thick. The volume buttons have been moved to the top edge. Apple will eliminate the Action button and replace Face ID with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button.
The back has a horizontally arranged dual-camera setup similar to the iPhone Air. The flash is located beneath the microphone. The rear microphone has also been redesigned with five small drilled holes. The outer display is edge-to-edge and slightly curved. Meanwhile, the selfie camera on the main display is positioned at the top left corner.
Sonny Dickson noted that “it seems Apple will not offer many color options. White is the only option available so far.” This information aligns with previous disclosures from Instant Digital that Apple is considering dropping the black version. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has also mentioned that Apple will avoid bright colors for the foldable line, sticking to traditional hues.
Some of the company’s recent technology-defining products, such as the Apple Watch Ultra and Vision Pro glasses, have only been available in a single color at launch. The iPhone X, celebrating its 10th anniversary, was also released in just two basic colors: silver and gray, before adding a gold option the following year.
The first generation of the foldable iPhone is expected to be unveiled by Apple in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. According to Mark Gurman, the starting price of this product “will certainly exceed 2,000 USD.”
