Vietnam’s Presence at the Apple Event – VnExpress
At the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026, held on June 9 in the United States, Vietnam appeared multiple times in presentations related to Apple Intelligence, from traditional food, the Vietnamese language, to images of Hanoi.
The first appearance was in a demonstration of AI-supported writing and note-taking capabilities in the Journal app. Apple used the example of an article recounting an experience in Hanoi titled “Hanoi reflection.” The content described a two-week trip to Vietnam, mentioning experiences such as having breakfast in the Vietnamese style, drinking egg coffee, and watching water puppetry. The screen also displayed many characteristic images of Hanoi, such as street vendors, traditional markets, and the landscapes of Ha Long Bay to illustrate the feature.

The next instance occurred during the introduction of Visual Intelligence, a feature that allows Siri AI to use the camera to recognize and analyze the surrounding world. To illustrate the AI’s capability to assess nutrition, Apple chose an image of a bowl of chicken pho. The system identified the dish as “Chicken Phở with Noodles, Veggies and Broth” and provided information about the nutritional components, fiber, protein, and sodium content of the dish.
The third mention was when Apple announced the list of languages supported by the new generation of Apple Intelligence. Alongside English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, Vietnamese was included in the group of languages officially supported by Apple.
Additionally, some images and references related to Vietnam appeared briefly, such as an image of a person in a boat picking lotus flowers in the Image Playground feature demonstration, and a person with the surname “Nguyen” used in the account illustration.
Throughout the nearly 80-minute event, the inclusion of Vietnamese images and language, such as “pho,” Hanoi, and Vietnamese, on the WWDC stage highlighted Vietnam’s more prominent presence in Apple’s presentations.

For several years now, Vietnam has also been one of the markets that major technology companies are paying attention to. For instance, with Google, the Vietnamese language or the Vietnamese market is often among the first supported groups. When Apple launched Apple Intelligence, Vietnamese was one of the first languages, alongside English, to be supported in the Apple Intelligence feature set from 2025. Additionally, Vietnam has gradually been upgraded, becoming one of the first markets globally to sell the initial iPhone batches.
The new generation of Apple Intelligence was one of the highlights at WWDC 2026. This year, Apple collaborated with Google to use the Gemini model to create its own model. The new Apple Intelligence will be available to users alongside the operating systems iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27 this fall.
