The certification was awarded on the afternoon of June 12 at a conference introducing the conditions for certifying scientific and technological enterprises, as well as high-tech enterprises by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology. GreenNode is the first unit to receive certification from the city since this authority was decentralized to localities in October 2025.
According to Ms. Nguyen Hoang Bao Tran, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, the city currently has over 2,000 enterprises capable of developing into scientific and technological enterprises, high-tech enterprises, with approximately 150 units meeting the documentation requirements.

The certification is valid for five years and is issued after an independent evaluation process. Some criteria that must be met include: revenue from high-tech products accounting for at least 70% of total revenue; the ratio of investment in research and development to revenue ranging from 0.5% to 2% depending on the scale. In addition, the evaluation criteria also include financial factors, environmental considerations, and the number of highly educated personnel. According to representatives from the department, these requirements necessitate that enterprises have a development strategy from the very beginning.
GreenNode was established in 2023, part of VNG, and provides high-performance AI Cloud solutions for digital enterprises, currently serving over 1,000 business customers in Vietnam, Southeast Asia, the United States, and the Middle East. Its product ecosystem includes high-performance AI Cloud infrastructure, AI Platform, AgentBase, AI Gateway, intelligent document processing solutions, open-source large Vietnamese language models, and GreenMind. In 2024, they will also launch AI Cloud infrastructure in Bangkok, Thailand.
This unit reports that currently 96.8% of its revenue comes from high-tech products, with 97.5% of its personnel holding university degrees or higher. Additionally, their data center infrastructure meets Tier III standards of the Uptime Institute, with a power usage effectiveness (PUE) ratio of 1.5, meeting the high-tech enterprise criteria set by the city.
Mr. Vu Thanh Tung, CEO of GreenNode, stated that receiving this certification “is a motivation to continue long-term investments in AI, sovereign cloud infrastructure, and the next generation of high-tech engineers in Vietnam.”
