Redmi Watch 6: Significant Hardware Upgrade with 24-Day Battery Life
Redmi Watch 6 is an upgrade from the Watch 5 model, standing out in the under three million VND segment. The product focuses on enhancing user experience, including improvements in display, battery life, GPS accuracy, and the smoothness of the HyperOS operating system. With a listed price of 3 million VND, users can actually purchase the product for between 2.3 million and 2.7 million VND depending on the retailer and promotional programs. It competes in the same segment with notable models like Huawei Watch Fit 5 and Amazfit Bip Max.

Redmi Watch 6 retains the familiar design seen in current smartwatches with a square watch face that has rounded corners. The bezel is flat rather than slightly curved as before. The case has a matte finish, providing a sturdier feel and less fingerprint smudging compared to a glossy finish. Xiaomi has added a quick access button next to the crown, allowing users to assign actions to this button for accessing the control panel, switching modes, or starting workouts. The new button design is similar to how Apple equips its smartwatches.

The display is a significant upgrade, featuring a 2.07-inch AMOLED panel with a brightness of 2,000 nits, higher than the 1,500 nits of the previous generation, supporting full-color Always On Display at a 5 Hz refresh rate. The screen shows a clear difference when used outdoors in sunlight, with parameters, messages, and icons displayed distinctly without glare or fading. Users do not need to shield their hands or stop to view content on the screen while exercising. The bezel has also been slimmed down to 2 mm.

The device integrates all common health tracking sensors, including continuous heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen level measurement (SpO2), stress tracking, and in-depth sleep analysis categorized into light sleep, deep sleep, and REM stages.
The GPS has been upgraded to dual-L1 GNSS, supporting multiple positioning systems simultaneously, which helps in faster and more stable location fixing, with GPS accuracy not deviating much compared to high-end models.

Redmi Watch 6 runs on HyperOS 3, which Xiaomi has optimized specifically for wearables. The device interface is simple, with options for grid or list layouts that are intuitive and easy to navigate.
However, due to being in the budget segment, the product has limited features and lacks many applications available on Google’s WearOS. Messaging apps like Zalo and Messenger can receive messages but do not have quick reply capabilities. Users can receive calls from their phones, but the speaker volume is only sufficient for use in quiet environments.

Redmi Watch 6 is equipped with a 550 mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims can last up to 24 days in basic mode, 12 days in normal mode, and 7 days with Always On Display activated. In practical use, when continuously monitoring health, receiving notifications, and exercising for about an hour each day without enabling AOD, the battery life can extend to 10-14 days. This is also a significant advantage of smartwatches that do not use WearOS, as users do not have to worry much about battery life or daily charging.
